Frequently asked questions
Who publishes the UK Sanctions List?
The UK government publishes it on GOV.UK. OFSI, part of HM Treasury, enforces financial sanctions.
What are the penalties for breaching UK financial sanctions?
OFSI can impose civil monetary penalties and breaches can also be criminal offences. The figures we verified on the official texts are shown on this page.
Is the UK list the same as the EU list?
No. Since leaving the EU the United Kingdom runs its own regimes and its own list, which differs from the EU one.
The program can make mistakes. The final responsibility for compliance stays with your company. Unicorn Intelligence is an information tool. Decisions and legal obligations, including sanctions compliance, due diligence and tender participation, remain with the customer.
