In short

  • Unicorn Intelligence is a self-service platform with five services: sanctions and counterparty screening, dossiers on private companies, regulatory monitoring, competitor and startup intelligence, and international public tenders.
  • Every match, news item and notice shows its official source and date, so your team can verify it in one click.
  • You sign in with your business email or a Google or Apple account: $50 of free usage to get started, no card required. Then you continue pay as you go, charged every week, or choose a subscription.
  • Results arrive in the dashboard, by email, by REST API and by signed webhook, with an audit log of every review decision.
  • It is an information tool: decisions and legal obligations remain with your company.

Most companies already know they should check who they do business with, follow the rules that apply to them and keep an eye on competitors and public contracts. The hard part is doing it every day, with the same care, without a team reading hundreds of sources.

This guide explains what each Unicorn Intelligence service does, who uses it, why it matters, how it works from the first sign in to the API, and what it costs.

What Unicorn Intelligence is

Unicorn Intelligence is a B2B information platform by Unicorn Private LLC. It collects official and open sources, compares them with what matters to your company and tells you when something needs attention.

Everything is self-service. You sign in, add your names or your monitoring profile, and the checks run on schedule. There is no setup project and no contract to negotiate: standard terms, a data processing agreement and a DORA appendix are accepted online.

The interface, summaries and briefings are available in 16 languages, so teams in different countries can work on the same account.

Why companies need these checks

Sanctions apply to everyone

Sanctions are adopted by national governments, by regional bodies such as the European Union and by the United Nations Security Council. They can forbid dealing with listed people and companies, and with companies they own or control. In several jurisdictions penalties can apply even when a company did not know it was dealing with a listed party.

Lists change often. A customer that was clean at onboarding can be designated months later, which is why a one-time check is rarely enough.

Due diligence on counterparties

Anti money laundering rules in many countries require regulated companies to identify their business customers and understand who they are, a process often called KYB (know your business). Supply chain laws and large buyers increasingly ask the same of suppliers. A documented check, with source and date, is what auditors and partners usually ask to see.

Rules change every week

New laws, implementing acts and guidance are published in official journals every working day. Missing one can mean a late product change or a missed deadline. Monitoring the sources that matter to you, in a language your team reads, keeps the work manageable.

Markets and tenders move fast

Competitors raise money, launch products and change prices. Public buyers publish tenders with fixed deadlines. Finding them early leaves time to react and to prepare a good bid.

How it works, step by step

  1. Sign in. Use your business email (a single-use link valid for 20 minutes, no password) or a Google or Apple account.
  2. Start with $50 of free usage, no card required. For business email accounts it is given once per domain and is valid 90 days. Every use is counted at the pay as you go prices.
  3. Add your names. Paste a list, upload a CSV file or sync by API. You can also check a single name instantly without saving it.
  4. Set your monitoring profiles. Choose countries or areas, sectors, keywords, competitors, procurement codes and languages.
  5. Let the daily checks run. Lists and sources are updated and compared on schedule. You are alerted only when something new appears.
  6. Review matches. Each potential match has a score from 0 to 1 and the reasons behind it. Confirm or clear it with a note.
  7. Keep the audit log. Every decision is recorded with user, time and note, and can be exported as CSV for your auditors.
  8. Order dossiers. Enter a company name, and optionally its website, country or LEI. The PDF and JSON report is ready in minutes.
  9. Read briefings and alerts. Every Monday you receive a briefing for regulation, competitors and tenders, plus alerts by email (instant, daily summary or off).
  10. Connect your systems. Use the REST API with an API key, documented with OpenAPI, and webhooks signed with HMAC SHA-256.

Invite colleagues by email as admin (billing, team, API keys) or member (daily work). There is no limit on users.

Sanctions and counterparty screening

Upload your customers, suppliers and partners once. Every day they are compared with official sanctions and restricted party lists published by public authorities, with open official sources on politically exposed persons and insolvency where they exist, and with adverse news in 16 languages.

Matching works on names, aliases and transliterations, so a name written in another alphabet or with a different spelling is still found. You see the score and the reasons for each match, then decide.

The lists actually loaded, with their update date and number of entries, are shown below and on the status page. We do not describe lists that are not loaded.

Dossiers on private companies

A dossier collects in one document what you would otherwise search in many places: identity from open registers (GLEIF LEI, SEC EDGAR and open European business registers), a sanctions check on the company and on the names found, recent news and adverse media, funding rounds and reported valuations from Unicorn Watch, web presence and risk signals.

Every item is explained and linked to its source and date. The dossier is written in the language you choose and comes as PDF for your file and JSON for your systems.

Regulatory monitoring

The service reads official journals and authorities with open feeds every day, such as EUR-Lex, the Federal Register, legislation.gov.uk, Gazzetta Ufficiale, Légifrance (JORF), BGBl and BOE. It filters new items on your countries or areas, sectors and keywords.

Each item comes with a summary in your language and a direct link to the official text, in the weekly briefing and as alerts.

Competitor and startup intelligence

Follow the companies and sectors that matter to you without reading hundreds of sources: funding rounds and reported valuations from Unicorn Watch, new products, press releases, job postings as a signal of where a company invests, patents and changes to pricing pages.

Every Monday you receive a briefing in your language, and alerts when something important happens.

International public tenders

Tenders from TED (European Union), SAM.gov (United States) and open national portals are matched to your profiles on keywords, CPV procurement codes, countries and minimum value.

For each tender you see a summary translated into your language, the value and currency, the submission deadline and direct links to the notice and the documents.

Prices

There are two ways to pay. With pay as you go there is no monthly fee and no minimum: when the $50 of free usage is over, you add a card and pay only for what you use, charged every Monday for the previous week, earlier if usage passes $1,000 within a week. You can set an optional weekly spending cap.

A single dossier can also be bought for $490, one-time payment, from the dashboard. A company uses either pay as you go or a subscription. See all details on the pricing page.

Security, data and procurement

The service runs on Cloudflare; payments are handled by Stripe and never reach our systems. Traffic uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher, data at rest is encrypted by the storage provider, and API keys and sign-in links are stored only as hashes.

Your data is not used to train models. After cancellation it is deleted within 30 days, except invoices and records that must be kept by law.

Your security and procurement teams find the sub-processors, the documents and a filled-in security questionnaire on the security page.

What Unicorn Intelligence does not do

Unicorn Intelligence is an information tool. It finds, organizes and documents information from official and open sources. It does not decide for you whether to work with a counterparty, it does not replace your legal advice and it does not make your company compliant.

Always verify a potential match on the official source before acting. Decisions and legal obligations, including sanctions compliance, due diligence and tender participation, remain with your company.
